Edward Mosshart, MA, LMHC

Edward Mosshart

I am a seasoned therapist, with over 30 years of experience. I practice psychoanalytic psychotherapy, typically meeting with my clients 1-2x per week. I also have an interest, and practice Archetypal Psychology, dream work and art therapy. I am fascinated by the resilience of the human Spirit, and the manifold manifestations of that Spirit in music, poetry, literature and film (I am Adjunct Faculty at Antioch University, Seattle, teaching a class titled “Psychology in Classical Literature”.

My primary work is all about the relationship. Safety, trust and empathy are the keystones to my practice; without that, we really don’t find the depth that brings understanding and healing. My Mentor and Supervisor, Robert Bergman MD, is 84 years old (and still practicing). When I asked him why he continues to work (at his age!), he quickly replied “it’s the only place in life that I find people where I can be real, and I can be real”. Not that… that I can believe in.
