Creating Space Counseling

Morgan McGrath

I work primarily with individuals and couples. My approach in session is direct and active. I am curious by nature and find that most patients appreciate my honesty, humor, and willingness to ask questions, speak openly, and give direct feedback.  I have an engaging style that balances my training and expertise with the reality that we are two (or several) people sitting together having a conversation. I greatly enjoy the work that I get to do with clients and look forward to meeting you.

Experience and Training:
I have trained in a number of therapeutic approaches which inform my current practice.  My fellowship at the University of Colorado involved intensive training in group therapy, co-occurring mental-health and substance use treatment, and finding healing after trauma. I received further postgraduate training in Trauma Dynamics Somatic Therapy at the Love and Trauma Center and Attachment Therapy at The Boulder Institute for Psychotherapy and Research. I have extensive experience working with queer and transgender folks and those recovering from relational and sexual traumas.  I also consider it a good practice to maintain a supportive network of friends and colleagues.  I believe it is a great privilege to be a therapist and this perspective is integral to my work.  Further areas of interest include working for social justice, dismantling patriarchy and white supremacy, and emphasizing the importance of community and connection in healing.
